Another day...
Wednesday, August 30, 2006Another birthday, that is. That's right, I'm officially in my mid-twenties. It's a little scary actually since that means that my life is one-third over. Of course, that also means that (statistically, anyway) I have another two-thirds to go. (The rather sad thing is that I'm envisioning how thirds would look on a geoboard as I write this. I love being a nerd.)
It was actually quite a lovely day. I woke up thinking I would do lots of relaxing, but I got through about two hours of that before I was bored out of my mind. So I dressed up a bit (read: no sneakers or Tevas) and went out to savor the day. I dawdled around Barnes and Noble for a while, then bought I few books I've been eyeing. Then I headed over to my favorite coffee shop to read one of said books while nursing a yummy caramel Italian soda.
After satisfied with that, Ed and I rode the carousel, which is something neither of us had ever done (not in known history anyway, although the memory is a fickle beast). I went for a nice walk after that, which was made a little less nice by the fact that I had spurned comfy shoes. But that was cancelled out by the unfamiliar click of the shoes I did wear on the sidewalk, so it was okay. I love the sound of shoes.
Finally, some friends and I went out to Tower Pizza for dinner. Yum. I do love Tower. And my friends, of course. So all in all it was a wonderful day. And thankfully not too smokey, which was sheer luck as Missoula seems to have turned into a giant campfire since.
